8/2000-3/2004    Executive Producer, ¡Más! Arizona, KTVK-BELO

Helped develop and format a 24-hour a day cable channel all in Spanish. Hired all personnel, including 4 Anchor/Reporters, 3 Producers, 3 Editors, 2 Photographers and 1 Writer. ¡Más! Arizona is the first operation of its kind. We have the backing and utilize the resources of KTVK´s newsroom and staff. The ¡Más! staff develops original programming and concentrates on serving the community with informative and entertaining long form packages. We shoot on BetaSP, edit on Grass Valley Vibrint non-linear and air from Grass Valley Profile server technology managed by Crispin software.

 

5/2000-8/2000       Freelance Videographer/Editor/Graphics/Web Design

I was the principal videographer for A Brighter Day with Jan D'Atri, Home with Terri O. These are 30 minute craft and cooking shows that air Saturday mornings on KTVK-TV, Phoenix, AZ. I was the principal videographer for Under the Hood with Mark Salem, 30 minute live-phone-call-in auto-fix-it show that also airs on KTVK. I was also a contributor to Brainstorm, a kids show that also airs on KTVK. I am also well versed in Adobe Photoshop, Adobe AfterEffects, Adobe Pagemill and Avid Media Composer. In my spare time I design and manage websites for those in need.

 

5/1996-5/2000              Owner/Operator, On-Line Digital Solutions, Phoenix, AZ

ODS was a video production company that used Sony BVP-400 camera and Avid Media Composer editing technology. ODS serviced many clients in the educational/instructional/corporate arena. Clients included: Foglesong Communications, Eller Media, Educational Management Group, Peoria Unified School District, Glendale Police Department, Donahue Productions, Bloom Video Productions.

 

1980-1996               Chief Photographer,News Department, KTVK-TV, Phoenix, AZ

Promoted to Chief Photographer despite being the junior photographer on the staff. I directed and managed 8 photographers. I eventually was in charge of a staff of 22. I traveled extensively on assignment for KTVK including travel to: Mexico, Canada, Bahamas, Grand Cayman, Jamaica, Belgium, Holland, Poland, England, France and a fair portion of the 50 states including Alaska. I also was awarded 7 Rocky Mountain Region Emmys during this period.

 

1977-1980               ENG Photographer/Editor, News, KTVK-TV, Phoenix, AZ

Hired primarily because of my previous experience with videotape. I operated a "live" microwave van and worked the night shift for 3 years. I welcomed all overtime and sought out assignments with travel. I won an NPPA 2nd place Spot News award in 1978.

 

1977                       ENG Editor, KAET-TV, PBS, Phoenix, AZ

Edited video for new show Public Memo while attending Arizona State University. I majored in Political Science with a minor in Journalism.

 

1976-1977               Assistant Producer, News Photographer/Editor, KBLU-TV, Yuma, AZ

Received the first internship in TV news offered by Arizona Western Community College. I was eventually hired part-time at KBLU-TV and worked under the direction of Lou Dobbs, presently with CNN Moneyline.
